CHOP SESSION - Loading is fun!

  Post Chop Session loading/bonding time

Students load drums and keyboards on a beautiful Saturday evening after the final Chop Session before the summer. With about 40 students in attendance, the afternoon class worked on basic technical and musical fundamentals with a focus on the day's theme - grid patterns.  Students played basic 16th note grid patterns, 4-2-1, off the left, and backwards off the left, and some even began working on triplet and 7/8 grid patterns.

Don't miss out on our next playing event, Summer Drum Days, which will be held in June in conjunction with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps show.  The three day camp will feature clinics by Michael McIntosh, as well as a special presentation and group performance with the Cavalier percussion section.  Guys and girls of all ages welcome! 2011 - Congratulations on a Great Season

And...it's over!  Green Thunder Percussion concluded it's 2011 season in Dayton, OH this past weekend, one full of excitement, gratification, and memories.  With our Finals performance being one of the season's most outstanding, students and staff were all smiles as they came off the floor in competition on Saturday.  Many of our students saw WGI World Class Finals for the first time (for a kodak moment, click here), and for all, it's one we will remember for many years to come.

A heartfelt thank you to one of the hardest working group of students GTP has ever worked with, and to some of the most appreciative and generous parents and volunteers that we could ever hope to have as a part of our family.  The time and energy you contribute to our organization is priceless.  Thank you for allowing us to do what we do, sharing our passion for music and the arts!

BUT WAIT - it doesn't stop here!  Be sure to check out our upcoming chop sessions and summer drum days events that take place during May and June.  The next season of GTP monster musicians starts now!
